Pipe Relining Western Sydney

Broken pipe?
Keep your
driveway.

A quote to dig up your garden, slab or driveway is a shock. Relining repairs the pipe from the inside, so the damage gets fixed and your property stays in one piece.

If any of these are happening, don't sit on it. Small plumbing problems get expensive quickly.

  • The same drain blocks again every few months
  • Tree roots keep coming back in the sewer line
  • Camera footage showing cracks, gaps or a sagging pipe
  • Damp patches or sinkholes appearing in the lawn
  • You've been quoted a full excavation and want another option
  • A camera inspection has shown root intrusion, a cracked joint or a pipe that's started to lose its shape
  • A drain keeps backing up even after it's been cleared
How we fix it

Done properly.
Explained plainly.

You'll always know what we found, what it'll cost and what your options are before we start.

Camera assessment

We map the pipe, measure the damage and confirm relining is genuinely the right fix.

Root cutting and prep

The line is cleaned back to bare pipe so the new liner bonds properly.

Structural liner install

A resin liner cures in place and forms a new, jointless pipe inside the old one.

Junction and bend repairs

Including patch repairs and reinstated junctions where only a section has failed.

Stormwater and sewer lines

Relining for both stormwater and sewer pipes, including under driveways, slabs and garden beds.

Before-and-after footage

You see the pipe before we start and the finished liner at the end, so you know exactly what you paid for.

How a reline is done

The process is the same whether it's a sewer or stormwater pipe:

  • Camera inspection to map the pipe, measure the damage and confirm that relining suits.
  • Cleaning and root cutting back to the bare pipe, so the liner bonds properly.
  • A resin-saturated liner is inserted, inflated against the wall and left to cure into a new, jointless pipe.
  • Any junctions are reopened, and a final camera run proves the result.

Relining or digging: which is right?

Relining suits cracked joints, root entry, minor offsets and ageing pipes that are still in shape. It's usually the better choice when the pipe runs under a driveway, slab, tree or established garden, because nothing has to be dug up and reinstated.

Digging is better when a pipe has collapsed, or when it has sunk so it no longer drains. We won't push relining where it won't work. You'll see the footage and we'll talk you through the options.

Why roots keep coming back

Roots grow towards the moisture and nutrients in a sewer line and enter through joints. Cutting them clears the blockage, but the joint is still there, so the roots return. A liner seals those joints, which is why it's the lasting fix for repeat blocked drains caused by roots.

Costs and getting a quote

Cost depends on the pipe length, size, depth and access, and the condition found on camera. We give you a fixed scope and price after we've seen the footage. See our guide to what a plumber costs in Western Sydney for general rates, or request a quote and we'll arrange an inspection.

What pipe relining typically costs

Relining sits in the upper range of drain work because it's a repair, not a clean-out. Our guide puts a long relining job anywhere from $1,500 up to $10,000+, depending on the pipe's length, size, depth and access, and gives a real example of a tree-root-damaged clay pipe that came to around $4,000. The camera inspection that decides whether relining suits usually costs $150 to $350 on its own.

Compare that with the alternative: excavating means breaking up and reinstating whatever sits above the pipe. We'll give you both options and prices after we've seen the footage. These are typical ranges from our own cost guides, not quotes. Access, the age of the pipework and the time of day all move the price, so we explain your options and the cost before any work starts. Straight answers

Questions
we get a lot.

How long does a reline last?

Relining products are designed for a 50-year service life and are jointless, so roots have nothing to get into.

Is it cheaper than digging?

Usually, once you count reinstating concrete, paving, landscaping and the days of disruption that excavation brings.

Can every pipe be relined?

Most can. Fully collapsed pipes may need a section dug out first. The camera inspection tells us straight away.

How does pipe relining work?

We camera the pipe, clean it back to bare pipe and cut out roots, then pull a resin-saturated liner through. It's inflated against the pipe wall and cured so it hardens into a new, smooth pipe inside the old one. A final camera run shows the result.

How long does relining take?

Most single-run relines are completed in a day, depending on the length and condition of the pipe. We'll give you a realistic timeframe when we've seen the footage.

What can't be relined?

A pipe that has fully collapsed, or has shifted badly out of line, usually needs a section replaced first. The camera inspection tells us straight away, and we'll say if digging is the better option.

Will it reduce my pipe size?

The liner is thin, so the bore reduces only slightly, and the smooth surface usually flows better than old, rough pipe. We'll check that the finished flow suits the line.

Who pays if the collapse is under the footpath or road?

Sydney Water runs a program where it can cover the repair cost for a collapsed private sewer service under public land, if an independent plumber confirms the collapse. Footage helps, so ask us to document it, and check Sydney Water's current terms or call 13 20 90 before any work starts.
