Sound familiar?

Signs it
needs sorting.

If any of these are happening, don't sit on it. Small plumbing problems get expensive quickly.

  • A rotten-egg smell near appliances or the meter
  • A hissing sound at a gas line or fitting
  • Yellow or orange flames instead of clean blue
  • Unexplained jump in your gas bill
  • Headaches or nausea when an appliance is running
  • A pilot light that keeps going out, or a gas appliance that won't light first time
  • Soot or black staining around a gas heater or cooktop
How we fix it

Done properly.
Explained plainly.

You'll always know what we found, what it'll cost and what your options are before we start.

Gas leak detection

We locate and isolate leaks and make the property safe before anything else happens.

Appliance installation

Cooktops, ovens, heaters, hot water units and outdoor BBQ points, connected and tested.

New gas lines

Runs sized correctly for the appliances on them, including alfresco and second-kitchen points.

Compliance certificates

Certificates issued for completed gas work, so your insurance and sale paperwork stack up.

LPG and natural gas

Mains gas and bottled LPG are both covered, including regulator and cylinder connections on rural properties.

Alfresco and outdoor gas

BBQ points, outdoor heaters and fire pits connected correctly, with clearances and ventilation checked.

If you smell gas right now

Don't switch anything on or off, and don't use a lighter or phone near the smell. Open doors and windows, turn the supply off at the meter or cylinder if it's safe, and get everyone outside. Then call us. If the smell is strong, or someone feels unwell, call 000, and your gas network's emergency number is on your gas bill.

What gas fitting covers

Our licensed gas fitters take care of:

  • Cooktops, ovens, wall ovens and heaters connected, tested and certified.
  • Gas hot water systems, including replacing a system, with our hot water plumbers.
  • New gas lines and extra points for kitchens, alfresco areas and BBQs.
  • Leak detection and pressure testing when you suspect a problem or after other works.
  • Converting connections when you swap an appliance, where the appliance allows it.

Why the licence matters

NSW law requires a licence for any gasfitting work, including LP gas, regardless of the cost of the job, and it applies to residential, commercial and industrial work. The reason is simple: a badly done gas connection can leak, build up carbon monoxide or start a fire. A licensed gas fitter has the training to test and certify the work, and you get documentation showing it was done properly, which also matters for insurance and when you sell the property.

Planning a kitchen, heater or outdoor area

Bring us in before cabinetry or concrete goes down. Gas points need the right location, clearance and ventilation, and moving one afterwards costs far more than placing it correctly the first time. For typical prices, our guide to gas fitting costs in Western Sydney covers the common jobs.

What gas fitting typically costs

Licensed gas fitters in Western Sydney typically charge $100 to $180 an hour, with call-out fees of roughly $100 to $200 for a first visit. Many jobs are quoted at a fixed price. Typical ranges from our gas guide:

  • A cooktop swap in the same position with an existing gas point: $150 to $350.
  • A cooktop needing a new gas point or line extension: $350 to $700.
  • A gas point for a BBQ or outdoor kitchen: $300 to $800.
  • A gas pressure test and compliance check: $150 to $350.
  • Full gas line replacement on an older home: $1,000 to $3,500+.
  • These are typical ranges from our own cost guides, not quotes. Access, the age of the pipework and the time of day all move the price, so we explain your options and the cost before any work starts. For the full breakdown, read what gas fitting costs in Western Sydney.
Straight answers

Questions
we get a lot.

What do I do if I smell gas right now?

Turn off the gas at the meter, open doors and windows, avoid switches and flames, get everyone outside and call us straight away.

Are you licensed for gas work?

Yes. All gas work is carried out by licensed gas fitters and certified on completion.

Can you connect my new cooktop?

Yes, including converting connections, testing for leaks and issuing the compliance certificate.

Does gas work have to be done by a licensed gas fitter?

Yes. In NSW you need a licence to do any gasfitting work, including LP gas, whatever the size or cost of the job and whether it's a home or a business. Unlicensed gas work is a safety risk and a breach of NSW law.

Do you work with LPG as well as mains gas?

Yes. Plenty of properties around the Hawkesbury, Riverstone and the outer fringes run on bottled LPG. The regulators and fittings are different, so tell us what you have when you book and we'll bring the right gear.

What happens if you find a gas leak?

We isolate it first, then pressure test the system to locate the fault instead of guessing, repair it and test again before the supply goes back on. You get the paperwork for the work we've done.

How do I know if my gas appliance is safe?

Warning signs include yellow or orange flames instead of blue, soot staining, a pilot that keeps going out, a gas smell, or headaches when the appliance is running. Don't keep using an appliance you're unsure about, and call us for an inspection.

Can you install gas for a new kitchen or outdoor area?

Yes. We run and size the gas line for the appliances that will be on it, put the points where your cabinetry or alfresco needs them, and test everything before sign-off. Talk to us early in a renovation so the gas point locations are right.
